His ashes were scattered from the Hwy 99 bridge that crosses over the Rogue River, west of the city of Gold Hill OR, where he had lived. He loved fishing on the river.

Richard "Dick" Bodding Sr., a 25 year resident of Palo Alto died Thursday at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 64. He was a native of Portland, Oregon.

He was a manager of the Hage Music Store in Palo Alto and later worked for Columbia Records in San Francisco. Then he worked for 15 years for the Hewlett-Packard Company. He retired in 1973 and moved to Medford, Oregon where he opened a television repair shop before final retirement in 1975.

While living in Palo Alto he served as head usher for many years at Grace Lutheran Church. In 1975 he served as President of the Scandia Club in Medford, Oregon.

Memorial services will be held Sunday at Ascension Lutheran Church in Medford, Oregon. The family prefers that memorials be gifts to the Children's Hospital Medical Center Foundation or to the Ascension Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Gravesite Details

The marker that is pictured is at a cemetery in Rogue River. It was placed just as a marker with Richard K. Bodding's name on it although it does not contain his ashes. His brother wanted someplace to come visit in remembrance of his brother.
