Mrs. Emily Mitzel, 68, died November 22, 1971 in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Rosie Stansbery of Altus, Okla.

Mrs. Mitzel was born in Helenaneale, Russia, and came to the United States with her parents in 1906. She and Henry Mitzel were married in 1922 at Hazelton, N. Dakota where they farmed until 1947.

They then moved to Sunnyside, where they farmed until 1953, then retired and made their home in Sunnyside and Vancouver. The moved to Grandview in 1970. Mrs. Mitzel had lived with hr daughter since that time.

Survivors include five sons, Peter of Grandview, Henry of Prosser, William of Vancouver, Arnold of Lebanon, Ore., and Edwin Grafton, N. Dakota; five daughters, Mrs. Maggie Smith of Jamestown, N. Dakota, Mrs. Christine Simmons of Yakima, Mrs. Elsie Tongate of Wapato, Mrs. Elizabeth Stroup of Vancouver, and Mrs. Stansbery; 33 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Edward, Raymond and August Lautermilch of Spokane and Fred Lautermilch of Vancouver, two sisters, Mrs. Joe Walling and Miss Lavine Lautermilch, both of Spokane.
