Windom, Glenn Alvin - 
Glenn Alvin Windom, eldest son of Alvin and Sarah Windom was born May 27, 1902 at Nodaway, Iowa and passed away Wednesday, January 8, 1969 at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa following a lingering illness. 
He was united in marriage to Agnes Helen Hendrickson on May 27, 1923 at Creston, Iowa shortly after which they moved to Maryville, Missouri where they resided for one year before moving to the Fairfield and Clay Center, Nebraska communities where they lived 8 years. 
In 1932 they moved to Logan, Iowa where they lived one year before returning to the Adams County area where they were engaged in farming until 1962. 
At that time they retired from farming. and returned to Clay Center, Nebraska. 
To this union four children were born: Mrs. Sarah Pauline Barnes of Overland Park, Kansas, Mrs. Beverly O'Riley of Lenox, Iowa, Dr. Dean Windom of Bethany, Missouri, and Mrs. Marilyn Wurster of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one daughter-in-law, Joan Windom and 3 sons-in-law: Stanley Barnes, Harold O'Riley, and Gary Wurster, five granddaughters and five grandsons and one-great grandson. He leaves 4 sisters: Mrs. Emily Johnson of Grinnell, Iowa, Ruth Hayden of Seattle, 
Washington, Mrs. Blanche Lund of Brooks, Iowa, and Mrs. Esther Means of Villisca, Iowa and one brother Arthur Windom of Villisca, Iowa, a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Agnes on June 24, 1968, his parents and one sister, Mrs. Alma Shipley. 
His special interests were his family, friends, and farming. One of his primary interests during his farming career was the breeding of purebred Shorthorn 
cattle for which he received many awards and achievements. Due to failing health he was unable to attend the golden anniversary reunion of the first 4-H exhibitors of baby beeves at the 1916 State Fair at which time special honors were bestowed upon the few surviving exhibitors. 
At the time of his death he was a member of Iroquois Lodge No. 590, A.F. and A.M., Nodaway, Iowa and the Christian Church in Clay Center, Nebraska. 
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and it was with his strong faith in God that he has endured these past few years of suffering. 
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Nodaway, Iowa, January 11, 1969, conducted by Rev. J. Lester Greenwood and Rev. Don Burkum. 
Music was furnished by Rev. Don Burkum, soloist, and Mrs. Carl Johnston, organist. 
Pall, bearers were Harold Briggs, Malcolm Shipley, Paul Lund, Donald Means, Jack Butler and Fred Shepherd. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Harold 
Shepherd and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Shepherd. Masonic rites were conducted by Iroquois Lodge No. 590 A.F. and A.M. Burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
