He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, and had lived most of his life in the Lake Charles area before moving to Many, La., a year ago. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and went on to serve in the National Guard. He worked for and retired from Industrial Equipment and Engineering as a supervisor. In his spare time, Mr. Mouhot loved going to the camp and spending time with his family fishing at Toledo Bend. He also loved hunting, traveling and helping others in need. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Pinter and husband Michael of Sulphur, La.; four sons: David Earl Mouhot and wife Jenny of Westlake, La., Michael Allen Mouhot and wife Brenda of Kinder, La., Robert Lynn Mouhot of Sulphur, La., and Don Alvin Mouhot and companion Judy of Lake Charles; one sister, Naomi Trahan of Many; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Ernest Mouhot, and his wife, Betty Joyce Mouhot.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m, Monday, Oct. 8, in Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 6 p.m., and from 8 a.m, Monday.
