Glenn H. Aydelotte, 80, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at his home.

Glenn was born August 18, 1930, at Del Norte, Colorado, the son of Ernest and Alice Lenora (Goodwin) Aydelotte.

He graduted from Del Norte High School.

He joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War and in Vietnam. Glenn retired as a chief aviation machinist after 22 years of service.

Glenn was married to Maudine Stephens on September 2, 1950. They were divorced after 47 years of marriage.

On April 7, 2005, Glenn married Mae Jones-Paxson and they made their home in Iola, KS.

He worked for 6 years as a mechanic in the oil fields in New Mexico and then as a heavy equipment operator for Lea County, New Mexico before retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Iola Baptist Temple and the Iola American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Jones-Paxson-Aydelotte of the home; two daughters, Sheila Williamson & husband, Jerry of Midland, TX, and DeeAnn Gibbs & husband, Neal of Las Cruces, NM; four step-sons, Robert E. Jones & wife, Shyrell, Steven Jones, Richard "Bud" Jones & wife, Jeri, and Tim Jones all of Iola, KS; one brother, John Aydelotte of Oregon; four grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle, Melissa, & Kristen; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Ornelas.

Cremation has taken place.

Graveside inurnment service will be Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kansas. The Rev. Roger Collins will officiate.

Memorials gifts are suggested to Iola Baptist Temple and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, Kansas, which is in charge of arrangements.
