Rebecca Jean Baumert, 86, formerly of Sigourney and Iowa City, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. She was born February 1, 1924 in Iowa Falls to Roy and Mabel German. She graduated Iowa Falls High School in 1942. In March of 1948 she married Jesse W. Moon. They moved to Sigourney in 1959. Jesse died in April of 1969. After Jesse's death she moved to Iowa City. On March 21, 1972 she married Glen Maurice Baumert at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died April 21, 2008. She was a member of Chapter L PEO in Sigourney and had attended the United Methodist Church in Sigourney.

She is survived by her daughter Laura(Steve)Cozad of Creston, son Steven(Cassandra)Moon of Nichols, 3 grandsons Jesse, Brian, Chad Cozad all of Creston, 2 great-grandchildren Jubilee and Jersey Cozad.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a brother Keith German, and a sister Elsie Keller.

Funeral service: 1pm Saturday at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
Visitation: 12 noon to time of service Saturday.
Burial: Pleasant Grave Cemetery Sigourney.
A Memorial fund has been established.
