Mr Wentworth was an aeronautical engineer for NASA, working on the Atlas/Centaur, Surveyor, Voyager and Mariner programs.
He was born in Hicksville in western Ohio and grew up in Michigan. During World War II, he served with the Army Signal Corps in the 835th Battalion in India. Before and after the war, Mr. Wentworth studied at the University of
Michigan, where he earned a master's degree in aeronautical engineering. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; sons, Bruce C. of Ewing, N.J., and Dan of Rocky River; four grandchildren; three sisters; and three brothers.
