Ruth Naomi (Myers) Wolford, 87, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on Saturday, December 4, 2010, surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born in Carroll County, Md., on October 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Claudius and Lizzie (Keefer) Myers.

She graduated from Littlestown High School, Class of 1941. Ruth previously worked at Sears Roebuck & Co. and the York Hospital. She retired in 1985 from the Columbia Gas Co., after 10 years of service. Ruth was a member of Locust Grove United Church of Christ, York. In addition, she was a lifetime member of Kreutz Creek V.F.W., Post 7045 and its Ladies Auxiliary. During her lifetime she loved to crochet, cross stitch, read, work on jigsaw puzzles, and visit with her family. She volunteered at York Hospital and sang in the church choir for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Sandra L. Crowl and companion, Keith Kellenberger, Cynthia K. Allbright, Susan J. Myers and husband, Steve, Sonya J. Grim and husband, Ottis, and Sallie J. Harbold and husband, Garry; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Luther Myers. She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

A private family burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
