Feb 23, 1845 he married Catharina Schwärzel Biegert, widow of Johann Adam Biegert (1812-1843). Immigrating to America in November 1852, were Jacob & Catharina S.Biegert Hosch, two daughters, Marie & Carolina, and the three Biegert children, Adam, David, and Katharina. They bought 72 acres in Ohio and cleared it for farming. While in Ohio two more girls were born, Wilhelmina (1854) and Christine (1857). The two Biegert sons went to Kansas in 1858, and in the fall of 1859, Adam (oldest Biegert son), returned to Ohio, for the rest of the family. Arriving by rail to Jefferson City, MO, and then steamboat to Leavenworth, where they met David. They bought a team of oxen and a wagon and the family drove to Lyon's Creek (Kansas, on the Geary Co/Dickinson Co line--Geary was Davis Co.) area.
Jacob Hosch was a licensed local preacher. In 1864 he moved himself and the four youngest daughters to Eudora KS, and served a church there, marrying a widow Katharina/Caroline Abels. The three Biegert children remained in the Lyona area. The oldest Abels stepson, Henry, married Louisa Fiedler from Lyona. Jacob Hosch died 3.April.1906 while living with daughter Carolina Wahlenmaier in Kansas City.

"Jacob Hosch was born in Baden Germany, November 1, 1818. When 24 years of age he was converted to God through the labors of the Pietists. In 1845 he was married to Caroline Biegert, a widow with three children. Two sons are living, David and Adam Biegert of Dickinson Co., Kansas. In 1851 he came to Custer Co., Ind. In 1858 he came to Dickinson Co., Kansas where he became one of hte charter members of the Lyona german M.E. church.
He was greatly bereaved through the death of his wife in 1859. he moved to Eudora in 1864 and married Catherine Abels, a widow with three children of whom two sons, Henry and Ernest survive. This wife also was taken from his side thorugh death in 1875.
Since 1849(error-prob 1879), he found a pleasant home with his daughter, Mrs. Caroline Wahlenmaier, 436 Washington Ave., Kansas City, Kans. Jacob Hoesch was a talented man an original thinker and a great reader. Theology and religion had a special charm for him. He was a loved preacher for many years. He served the Eudora church one year as a pastor when the struggling congregation was embarrassed and gave the salary back to the official church board. He had a great longing for heaven in late years.
Four stepsons and three daughters survive. Mrs. Wahlenmaier, of Kansas City, Mrs. Brune, of Lawrence, Kans., and Mrs. Wahlenmaier of Arkansas City, Kansas. His death occurred April 3, 1906, 87 years, 5 months, and 3 days old. Burial at Eudora, April 6."
