They lived next to farmer Hugh Y. Kennedy, 28; Virginia Kennedy, 20 and Harvey F. Kennedy, 1, all VA born.
On the 1860 District 6, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found farmer Andrew Kennedy, 48; Rachel Kennedy, 45; Joseph Kennedy, 22; David Kennedy, 16 and Margaret Kennedy, 2, all VA born. His son miller Hugh Kennedy, 24, lives next door, with wife Barbara (Ann Patterson), 19 (married on 13 Jan 1859 in Rockbridge Co., VA, the daughter of Jas and Cath Patterson. Hugh and Barbara had a son on 30 Jan 1860 who didn't make it on the census. They had a son also on 15 May 1877 in Whistle Creek, VA. Hugh married 2nd to Barbra E Dice, daughter of J & S Dice on 18 Mar 1880).
I can't find them in 1870 on the census and Andrew dies 18 May 1871.
Widow Rachel Kennedy is last on the 1880 Walkers Creek, Rockbridge Co., VA census, age 67, residing with son farmer Hugh, 44 and his wife Barbara E., 38, all VA born. They lived next to her son David, 34, a miller and his family; wife Martha E., 34; Wm C., 11; Rachael E., 9 and David F., 4; all VA born.
