Fincastle Herald September 10, 1942

Mrs Carrie P Spigle, 70, died Saturday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs Jonas Eller, 115 Hunting Boulevard, Williamson Road.

She was the widow of the late R D Spigle of Trinity.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Mrs Eller, Rex and Max Spigle, Troutville; Moyer Spigle, Hollins; a sister, Mrs C W Driver, Staunton, and three brothers, T D and C A Layman, Fincastle, and E D Layman, Covina Calif.

Funeral services were conducted at the Central church of the Brethren in Roanoke at 4 p.m. Sunday by Rev M Guy West, Rev Clyde Forney, and Rev E C Woodie. Burial was in Trinity cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Minor Ikenberry, Justin Ikenberry, Aubrey Spigle, Clyde Spigle, Fred Spigle and John Driver.
