Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God Church, 835 S. Main Street, Prineville, Oregon 97754. Interment will be immediately following at Juniper Haven Cemetery. Pastor Larry McGarry and Pastor James Billings will conduct the service.
Hattie was born to the home of Isaac and Rosa (Fields) Williams July 5, 1909 at Fox, Grant county, Oregon. She spent her childhood in that area, where her father was a rancher. She married Alfred A. Best on July 2nd, 1928. They had two children, Velma June Hanson and Carroll A. Best. Her husband, Alfred, passed away October 2nd, 1932. She later moved to Redding, California where she lived for 20 years. She became affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in that city and was baptized there on July 2, 1967. Since moving to Prineville in 1968 from Tacoma, Washington, she has faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church. She is one of a small group that built the church in Prineville where it is now situated.
Hattie loved to sing, and was called on as a teenager to sing at funerals and other community functions.
Hattie was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; daughter Velma June Hanson; son Carroll; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; one granddaughter. Hattie is survived by her son-in-law Fred Hanson of Prineville, Oregon; daughter-in-law Patricia Best-Mower of Spanaway, Washington; sisters Mildred Allen of John Day, Oregon and Hazel Lewis of Springfield, Oregon; her brother Joseph Williams of Springfield, Oregon; 8 grandchildren, Wayne (Brenda) Hanson; Jeffrey (Brenda) Hanson;Marla (Bill) Nash; Sue (Don) Page; Ricky (Joan) Best; Jimmy (Heather Lynn)Best; Judy (Sam) Rickard; Barbara (David) Kanta. 33 great grand-children and 41 great, great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
