Carroll died Sunday at an Austin nursing home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Lakeview, where he was also educated.
Carroll was a route salesman for Butterkrust Baker for 30 years.
Survivors include a son, James W. Carroll III of Del Valle, a sister, Elvie Winters of Lubbock, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Ada M. Carroll and his parents, Hattie Bay Carroll and James Warren Carroll Sr.
