Harry S. Anderson, 98, formerly of 22 Springmeadow Lane, a retired electrical switchboard operator for Western Massachusetts Electric Corp. (now Northeast Utilities), died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
He worked at the utility for more than 34 years before his retirement.
Born in Montague's Turners Falls section, he lived in Springfield before moving here. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
He was the widower of Sedenna A. (Milkey) Anderson.
He leaves two sons, Harry S. Jr. of Somers and Kenneth of Wilbraham.
The funeral will be private, with burial at Aaron Clark Memorial Cemetery in Turners Falls. There are no calling hours, and Byron's Allen Street Funeral Home of Springfield is in charge.
