Mrs. Edna Manfull, 88 , a highly regarded Traer resident, died Tuesday morning in the Traer Convalescent Home, where she had been a patient more than two years. She had undergone surgery last October and had been bedfast much of the time since returning to the nursing home. Her funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the Erick¬son funeral home conducted by the Rev. Myron Brockmeyer, Methodist pastor. Mrs. Leland Sealock was organist. Pallbearers were Earl Hoeppner, Roy Keller Sr., John Kober, Floyd Manfull, Carl Wilson and Paul Manfull. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Munger had charge of the flowers. Interment was beside her husband in Buckingham cemetery.
Mrs. Manfull was born Edna Tomlinson, a daughter of Charles and Emily Tomlinson in Columbia township south of Tama, July 14, 1879, where she was reared. She was married in south Tama to Arthur Manfull June 17, 1897. They farmed in south Tama for 17 years on a farm adjoining the place occupied by Mr. Manfull's parents, before they moved to north Tama, and took over a farm 5 miles north of Traer in Buckingham township. The last 10 years on the Buckingham farm they were in the dairy business, and Mr. Manfull delivered milk in town to Traer customers. He died February 26, 1941, of a stroke. They were the parents of nine children.
Surviving are the sons, Carl, Arthur Jr, Roger and Ivan, all of Traer, and a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Nelson of Waterloo. Four sons, Clifford, Harry, Meryl and Charles, preceded their mother in death. Besides the children she also leaves 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a sister. Mrs. Manfull was active in helping in the care of several aged Traer folks and lived with them for several years, and until forced to quit because of ill health, her services were always sought. She was for many years a member of Ripley Congregational church of Traer, which has been without a regular pastor in recent months.
