William W. "Bill" Keeling, 76, of Parsons, passed away at 4:35 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Via Christi St Francis Hospital in Wichita. He had been in failing health.

Bill was born March 28, 1934 at Parsons to Raymond "Dutch" Keeling and Lola M. (Hiatt) Keeling. He grew on a farm near Altamont and attended country schools in Labette County. Following school, he entered the United States Air Force and served in Korea and several other bases in the U. S. and Europe. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1971. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1971, he went to work building cabinets at M&M Moulders until retiring in 1997. He had returned to Parsons to live in the early 1990s and had lived here since then. Bill enjoyed making crafts and fishing. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was married to Carolyn Sue Brown on April 4, 1953 at Parsons. She preceded him in death on November 22, 1992.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Springhill Cemetery near Parsons with military honors given by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Dialysis Center at Labette Health and these may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
