Bennie Lee Lamert was born 1886 in McComb, MS to James H and Alice Thompson Lambert. He and wife Willie Elizabeth Wilson (m. 1908) of Port Gibson, MS had four children: Vernon Eugene (m. Mary Virginia Hodge), Lee Oliver (m. Edna Nora Bean), Marion Elizabeth (m. Paul Elmer Gowan) and Ray Stanley (Rama Lee Hembree).
Ben was an avid baseball fan and player and played the position of pitcher for various cotton mill teams in the South in the 1920's.
He died in Cuero, Texas of complications of diabetes.
