Addie May Reed Mull, 90, of Lake Lure, N.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She had been staying with family in the area for the past few months.
Mrs. Mull was the widow of Martin Van Buren Mull.
She was the daughter of the Rev. Arthur Ernest Reed and Leatha Etta Morris Reed of Black Mountain, N.C., both now deceased.
She was born in Black Mountain on Nov. 1, 1907, and was married at her father's home in Black Mountain in September 1924.
She lived in the Bills Creek community at Lake Lure from 1931 to 1998, and was a member of the Bills Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. Mrs. Mull had also been lunch room manager at the Lake Lure School, where according to her family she was fondly called "Granny Mull."
She is survived by four children, Agnes Mull Deviney of Chattanooga, Margaret Mull Long of Heiskell, and Ernest Warren Mull and Robert Franklin Mull, both of Clinton; and a stepdaughter, Lillie Mae Mull Miller of Swannanoa, N.C.
In addition to her husband and parents, two sons, Peter Van Buren Mull and David Thomas Mull, died earlier, as did six stepchildren, Cora Lee Mull of Black Mountain, Elbert Braxton Mull, who died in the Army at Fort Bragg, N.C., Evie Zadie Mull Wilson of Lake Lure, Martin Henry Mull of Marion, N.C., and Mary Louise Mull Morris and Johnnie Joel Mull Patton, both of Swannanoa.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Bills Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight, Aug. 20, at Crowe's Mortuary and Chapel Inc., in Rutherfordton, N.C.
