FAIRVIEW, UT - Ruth Oleah Christensen Brady Garlick, age 90, passed away in her sleep at her home Monday evening, July 29, 2002 with her two daughters by her side.

She was born July 6, 1912 in Mt. Pleasant to Soren Peter and Caroline Christensen.

Ruth married Lee Raldo Brady, September 25, 1929. They lived in the original Brady home built by Lee's father in Fairview and Lee worked at the gas station until he obtained work in 1952 at the Dugway Proving Grounds, where they lived until he retired in 1972. They then moved back to Fairview. Lee died December 27, 1978.

Lee and Ruth had two daughters, Oleah Ruth Mitchell of Birdseye; and Linda Lee Lamoreaux (Jesse) of Salt Lake City.

Ruth later married Harold Garlick in 1982 and lived in Spanish Fork until Harold's death on April 21, 1998. Ruth then moved back to her Fairview home.

Ruth has eight grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 42 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Venetta Row, Eloese Monson, and Devona Orton, two husbands, a great grandchild, a great-great grandchild, and son-in-law; Max Mitchell.

Before losing her eyesight, Ruth was an avid quilter and an accomplished seamstress, having made her granddaughter's wedding dress. Even after becoming legally blind she continued to crochet afghans for her family members.

Ruth enjoyed visiting, reminiscing and traveling. She took yearly trips with her daughters including trips to Branson at age 88, Nauvoo at age 89 and California beach/Disneyland in 2002.

She always had a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, a marvelous sense of humor and a sharp memory. She could recount much of the Sanpete area history. She was proud to be 100% Danish.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 3, 2002 at the Fairview LDS North Ward Chapel, 131 East 100 North at 11:00 a.m.

Friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Magleby-Furner Mortuary, 96 North 100 West, Mt. Pleasant, and at 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the services at the church.
