Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Louise "Lou" Netherton, 69, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2000, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Joe Green and Bro. Eugene Schmid officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery with Dyer Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Netherton, retired from the City of Cookeville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at her home in Cookeville.

Born March 18, 1930, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Malissia (Neal) Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Netherton; two sisters, Beadie Opal Ledbetter and Katherine Ledbetter; and three brothers, Aaron Ledbetter, Luther Lee Ledbetter, and Perry Ledbetter.

She was affiliated with First Baptist Church in Cookeville, as well as Midway Christian Church in Overton County.

She was Junior Vice-President of the Ladies Auxillary V.F.W. Post 5062 in Livingston.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Louise Netherton, Antioch; four brothers and sisters-in-law, McCoy and Reba Ledbetter, Thomas and Lida Ledbetter, all of Sterling Heights, MI, Robert Frank and Sandy Ledbetter, Livingston, and Johnny and Earlene Ledbetter, Crossville; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Reba and Gene Koontz, Asheville, NC, Ruth and Charles Roberson Jr., Rickman, Flossia and Rastus Bowman, Rickman, and Betty and Larry Walker, Kingston; and a special friend, J.B. Hensley, Livingston.

Pallbearers were McCoy Ledbetter, Thomas Ledbetter, Robert Frank Ledbetter, Reba Koontz, Ruth Roberson, Flossia Bowman, and Betty Walker.

Honorary pallbearers were Reba Ledbetter, Lida Ledbetter, Sandy Ledbetter, Earlene Ledbetter, Gene Koontz, Charles Roberson Jr., Rastus Bowman, and Larry Walker.
