Mrs. Ernest R. Shearer
SALONA — Mrs. Ernest R Shearer, 70, the former Lillian D. Bower, died Friday, February 3, 1967 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit where she had been a patient six weeks, after three weeks in the Lock Haven Hospital. Mrs. Shearer was the widow of Ernest R. Shearer, who died in 1963 while they lived in Salladasburg.
She was born in Mackeyville Sept. 13,1896, a daughter of Bert and Nellie Walizer Bower. Most of her life she had lived in this vicinity. She was a member of the Mackeyville Church of Christ.
Surviving were three sons and four daughters: Charles L. Dress of Lewistown, a son by a previous marriage; M/Sgt. E. Richard Shearer, U.S. Army, in Viet Nam; S/Sgt. James R. Shearer, with the Miliary Police at Fort Richie, Md.; Mrs. Miriam Baker, Avis; Mrs. Clarence Girton, Beech Creek; Mrs. Ray Fetterman, S a 1 o n a; Mrs. Charles Van Gorder, Lock Haven; 17 grandchildren, and ( 13 great grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Edna Greak, Salona, survived; also two half sisters and two half brothers: Mrs. Emery Miller, Zion; Mrs. Belle Ardner and Harry Snyder, both of Mill Hall R.D.; and Russell Snyder, Lewistown.
