PERL D. BAER, 71, died Sunday at Providence Hospital, Sandusky. Born in Van Wert County, he worked at the former Continental Can Co. in Van Wert for 10 years and retired as a truck driver from Wenham Transportation after 28 years. He was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran. Surviving are his wife, Ilene M.; and three sons, Daniel L. of Fostoria, W. Devon of Salt Lake City and Kevin E. of Van Wert. Services at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Van Wert County, with calling one hour before services. Calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home Van Wert, with military memorial services at 8 p.m. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, with military graveside services by combined VFW and American Legion posts. Memorials to the church building fund or American Legion.
