DR. JOHN A. FRAUNFELDER- NAZARETH PHYSICIAN

Dr. John A. Fraunfelder, 94, of 140 South Broad Street, Nazareth, died Monday, December 24, 2001 in Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, Pa.

He was self employed as a physician for 50 years, retiring in 1983. He was a former school doctor for the Nazareth Area School District and a physician for Gracedale, the Northampton County Nursing Home in Upper Nazareth Township.

Born Aug. 26, 1907, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Jacob A. and Anna S. ( Trumbower ) Fraunfelder.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Nazareth, where he was a past deacon.

He was a 1924 graduate of Nazareth High School.

He received his bachelor's degree from Mulenburg College in 1929 and in 1933 he received his masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

He was a director for 50 years at Nazareth National bank, where he was the past vice president, a member of the board of directors, a past chairman of the trust committee and a past member of the bank's executive committee. He was also a member and past president of the Northampton County Medical Society, a member of the Whitfield Lodge 622 F&AM in Tatamy, a member and 32nd degree Mason of the Lehigh Valley Consistory and a member and past president of the Nazareth Rotary Club.

He and his wife, the former Mae Yeisley, observed there 61st Wedding anniversary September 21, 2001

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dr. John P. Fraunfelder of Walpole, NH., and three grandchildren

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nazareth.
