NICHOLAS BARBER

Nicholas Barber, 59, passed away Wednesday September 7, at his home in Sidnaw, Mich. He had been ailing for some time but it was only a short time before his death that members of the family realized the seriousness of his condition.
Mr. Barber was born Feb. 13, 1865 at White Lake, Ont., and was united in marriage with Jessie Buyers at Harrisville on August 1, 1891. Mrs. Barber and six of the nine children born to them survive. The children are Mrs. Mamie Davis of L'Anse, Lyle, Hazen and Anna of Sidnaw, Mrs. Olive Mercer of L'Anse and Mrs. Ida Belle McNeil of Detroit. Other relatives are the aged mother, Mrs. Duncan Gemmel of Red Oak, Iowa, and three brothers, Eustache of Alpena, James of Newberry and John of Flint; two sisters, Mrs. John Nichol of Harrisville and Mrs. John Bennett of Newberry.
Services were held at Sidnaw Friday and the remains were brought to Harrisville, where the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, Rev. C. M. Boyce officiating. Burial was made in the family lot at Springport Cemetery.
