Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) Alred, 73, died at his home on Rt. 4, Galax, Saturday, May 28, 1983.
He was born in Carroll County June 13, 1909, to Troy Alred and Emma Jane Fowler Alred.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vernia Alred; one daughter, Mrs. Lorene Stidham, Konbster, Mo.; four brothers, Clarence Alred and Hardin Alred, both of Galax; Edgar Alred, Oxford, Pa., and Kyle Alred, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Willie Wilson, Galax, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday, May 31, at 11 a.m. in the River Hill Christian Church. The Rev. Eldridge Sharp officiated.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home handled arrangements.
