Theodore "Ted" Louis Koelsch, 81, of Jones, beloved father and grandfather, went to rest in the arms of Jesus, Sept 22, 1995. He was born on April 30, 1914, in Shawnee, OK, to Sebastian J and Mary (Eckroat) Koelsch.
He grew up in OKC and married Margaret E Swanda on Feb 8, 1936. He returned to Shawnee where he and his wife were dairy farmers. He moved back to OKC in 1945 and farmed until 1947 when he founded Ted Koelsch Hardware and Feed.
Along with his family, he ran the store until his retirement in the late 1970s. Ted was proud of the fact that he founded the store, and it remains a family business.
Along with farming, he was active in the purchasing and sale of real estate early in the development of Midwest City. He was a former member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Nicoma, and currently attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City.
Survived by his wife, Margaret; 2 sons, David and James; daughter, Eileen; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Rosalie Crosby, Irene Gore, and Louise Hunter; a brother, George.
Preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Joe and James C, a sister, Gertrude Stoia, and a great granddaughter Jessica.
