Lafayette Knowles, a lifelong resident of Stockport, died at his home June 21 on his 82nd birthday. He had been in poor health for several months and seriously ill a week.
He Was born 21 June 1868, in Stockport. His marriage was on 2 May 1900, to Myrtle Edwards, who survives. He also leaves three sons, LaMar of Bonaparte, Edward of Newton and Ray of Paramont, Calif.: two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice White of Newton and Mrs. Juanita DeCamp of Miami, Fla., and a brother, Jesse, of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Wilson, Mrs. Eva Gregory and Mrs. Laura Jameson, and two brothers, Harve and John.
