Serena Frances Delawder, 99, of Route 1, Mathias died Monday at her home.

Mrs. Delawder was born Oct. 10, 1887, in Mathias and was a daughter
of the late Mary Jane Delawder.

She was a member of the Cove Chapel United Methodist Church.

In March 1908, she married Casper Delawder, who died April 8,1963.

Surviving are five sons, Owen and Harlan Delawder, both of Timberville, Va.,
Earl Delawder of Broadway, Va., and Winfred and Orville Delawder, both of
Mathias; seven daughters, Edna, Wanda and Vergie Delawder, all of Mathias,
Lenore Delawder of New Market, Va.,
Allene Lohr of Linville, Va., Treva Flory of Timberville, Va., and Joyce Fulk of
Fulks Run, Va.; a sister, Sallie Bowers of Mathias; 29 grandchildren; 33
great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cove Chapel
United Methodist Church by the Revs. Moses Selvaraj and Harold
Emswiler. Burial will be in the Mathias Cemetery.

Friends may call at the children's residences or the Delawder home.

In lieu of flowers, the family said contributions may be made to the
Mathias-Baker Rescue Squad, or the Cove Chapel United Methodist
Church.
