William "Billie", 87, of Brimley, MI / Perdido Beach, AL, and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, at the Gratiot Medical Center in Alma.

A memorial service for William was held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 11th with Rev. Ronald Vredeveld officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Perdido Beach Volunteer Fire Department.

William was born in New Metamoras, Ohio, the son of William Jennings Bryant Taylor and Almeda Bessie (Gorby) Taylor. He married Phyllis Pickens on Sept 23, 1948. William delivered ice for Tice Ice House, worked for Ed Shields in the oil fields and for Chris Barnhart in the vending business. He went on to found Dolphin Coin in 1955 and retired in 1972. William also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a life member of the V.F.W. He was also a member of the Perdido Beach Fire Department and a member of the Friends of Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery of Brimley.

William is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Terry (Helen) Meier of Rosebush and Dale Meier of Shepherd; extended family, Pam (Neil) Blake, Jackie Morey, Cindy (Chuck) Caszatt, Kim Morey, and David Morey; 12 grand children, Morgan Meier, William Meier, Jillaine (Dan) Marquiss, Jennifer (Edgar) Duron, Emily Blake, Brian (Carlin) Caszatt, Danae Caszatt, Desmond Joslin, Carly (Matt) Davis, Nathan Joslin, Jerod Morey, and Kyle Morey; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Taylor; 30 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and –nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers.
