WESTERN NEW YORKER January 1980:
Dr. Norman E. Skinner 63, of Covington Street, Perry, died January 16, 1980 at Wyoming County Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Fort Ann on October 6, 1926, the son of John and Osia Gilmore Skinner. He received his high school education in Ft. Ann. He was a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca. He came to Perry to assist the late Dr. F.C. Clark, in 1971 he and his partners established a clinic on Perry Center Road. He was a member of American Veterinary Medical Assoc., WNY and National Veterinary Assocations. A member of Constellation Lodge 404, P & A M, and Sibel Hunting Club. In 1978 he was honored for his contributions to the community at "Doc Skinner's Day" in Letchworth Park attended by 500 guests.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Elwell; two sons, Dana of Castile, John at home; two daughters, Cheryl (Joseph) Clark of East Aurora, Pamela of Perry; five brothers, Ira, Brayton, Royce, and John, all of Fort Ann, Corwin of Rochester; two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Pickett of Gansevoort, Mrs. Annise Daniels of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and two grandsons. The funeral was Saturday from Eaton-Watson Funeral Home with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Silver Springs.

Norman Skinner and Betty Elwell wed September 22, 1945 at St. Mary's Church, Silver Springs, NY with Rev. Charles Rochford officiating.
