Mrs. Adeline (Scarboro) Lanier, age 85, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kennedy Memorial Hospital after only a few days illness. She was one of the pioneer citizens of this section. She was the widow of the late William Lanier who preceded her in death several years ago. She is the mother of William H. Lanier, of Metter, Solicitor General Of the Middle Judicial Circuit. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and had been a member of that demonination for many years.
Adeline is survived by: sons William H. Lanier, Abb Lanier, and Jim Lanier of Metter, and John A. Lanier of Graymont; daughters Mrs. Grady Johnson and Mrs. Boyd Johnson, of Summit; one brother, Bert Scarboro, of Anron; three sisters, Mrs. J. J. Parrish of Aaron, Mrs. Bonnie Neeemith, of Claxton, and Mrs. Bertha Riggs of Statesboro. Adeline is further survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held this afternoon from the Rosemary Church at 4.00 p.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
