Dicy Coffee was born in Adair county, Kentucky, June 15, 1824 and departed this life May 12, 1912, aged 87 years, 10 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Milton Simpson, Dec. 20, 1842, who preceded her to the world beyond, June 24, 1878, aged 65 years, 9 months and 24 days. To this union were born nine children—six boys and three girls, five of whom have preceded her. The living are R. W. Simpson of Phillipburg, Kans., Mary F. Breeding of Des Moines, W. E. Simpson of Winterset, and J. M. Simpson of (unreadable), Mo. She had twenty eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was united in marriage to Elza Blair, Nov. 28, 1880, who preceded her to the world beyond, October 12, 1886. She has since lived a widow.
