Mary Frances Brummett, 92, was born Dec. 21, 1915, to Frank and Ethel Rice in Denver, Colo. She died Dec. 26, 2007, in Colorado Springs, Colo.,, of natural causes. Mary Frances grew up in Denver where she graduated from South High School. March 26, 1942, she married William A. Brummett and the couple settled in Pueblo, Colo., where they operated the Telephone Secretarial Service in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband in 1982. The couple had three sons, all of whom survive: William R. Brummett and James H. (Nancy) Brummett of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Thomas R. Brummett of Philadelphia, Pa. Mary Frances is also survived by three granddaughters: Joelle (Scott) Brummett Beller of Pasadena, Calif.; Julie (Ryan) Brummett Oberholtzer of Dallas, Texas; Riley Ellen Brummett of Philadelphia, Pa; and five great-grandchildren, Riley and Morgan Oberholtzer and Charlie, Josh, and Will Beller. She also had two stepgrandsons and six stepgreat-grandchildren. Mary Frances was primarily a homemaker who gave many volunteer hours to her work for the altar guild at the Church of the Ascension in Pueblo and to P.E.O. She was an avid reader, always interested in current events, a lively conversationalist, and a dedicated mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan.12, 2007, Church of the Ascension, 410 W. 18th, Pueblo, CO, 81003. Donations in Mary FrancesÕ memory may be made to the Church of the Ascension.
