Mr. Ballinger was born in Tacoma and was reared and educated in Puyallup. In 1938 he and Miss Florence Lee were married and they lived in Yakima for four years before moving to Seattle for 12 years where he managed a freight company.
In 1954 they purchased the Orchard Tract Grocery Store and Service Station in Grandview which they owned and operated until retirement in 1967.
Mr. Ballinger was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Ray of Grandview; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Helen Ingham of Yakima; one grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Phyllis) Tryner of Seattle; and a brother, Richard of Seattle.
