Oscar Lewis OWEN, 79, of 301 N. 13th St., died Friday at 5:30 a.m. in his home. He had been in failing health for several years.
Born Sept. 7, 1880, in Texas, he came to Abilene from Thurber in 1941, when he retired from farming.
He married Lou Annie GIBSON in Thurber on April 4, 1909.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Andrew of Fort Worth and Cecil of 309 N. 13th St.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Mart SMITH of Snyder and Mrs. Lucy RUSSELL of Tuscola; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Ash St. Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. H. R. LIEB officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. U. RISTER.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Elliott's Funeral Home.
