Mrs. Ida L. Finch. 77, who spent most of her life in Traer, died Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home in Vinton of heart trouble. She had been ill for three months. She was born at Spencer's Grove, Benton county, to the late Mr. and. Mrs. Reuben Babcock on November 5, 1870. She was married on June 24, 1891, at her farm home in Spencer's Grove to Albert R. (Bert) Finch. Mr. Finch worked for the county at bridge and culvert work many years while living in Traer, also as a carpenter, as a fireman at the municipal plant, ana many other jobs. He died in Traer on July 7, 1929.
Mrs. Finch leaves five children: Mrs. Evelyn Pettit, of Rockford, Illinois; Mrs. Leola B. Franklin, of Vinton; J. D Finch, O. R Finch and Omer H. Finch, all of Rockford, Illinois, together with 27 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family, two sisters and eight brothers having preceded her in death. Mrs. Finch went to Vinton in 1939 from Traer. She was a member of the Christian church. The funeral service was held Monday at 1:30 p. m. at the Fry-Holland Funeral Home in Vinton, with the Rev L. Z. Patton officiating. Burial was in Bear Creek cemetery in Benton county, beside her husband.
