Amelia Archacki Zemcik

"Loving Wife Mother & Busia" Amelia Archacki Zemcik, age 77, of Erie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at her residence. She was born in April 19, 1933, in Venango, Pa., a daughter of the late Carl and Mary Lewkowicz Archacki.

Amelia worked at Hills Department Store for 12 years; Pulakos Candy for 10 years; and volunteered for the Erie School District for nine years.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

She enjoyed sewing, camping and traveling with her husband all over the United States. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake.

She loved spending time with her family and most of all her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Long; three sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Paul G. Zemcik; six children, Susan Menges and her husband, H. Franklin of Elizabethtown, Pa., Steven Zemcik and his wife, Connie of Ogden, Utah, Michael Zemcik of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lawrence Zemcik and his wife, Cindy of McKean, Shirley Venesky and her husband, Phillip and Raymond Zemcik and his wife, Carrie, all of Millcreek. She was a loving Busia to 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Stella Mikolajewski; two brothers, Henry and Edward Archacki; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church.

Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
