Mrs. Gwendolyn "Gwen" Lee Wilt Freeman , 64, a resident of 1216 Port Republic Road in Harrisonburg, died Friday, July 5, 2002, at her residence.

A daughter of the late Edward Hamilton and Grace Wheeler Wilt, she was born on Dec. 14, 1937, in Harrisonburg, where she lived all of her life. She gradated from Harrisonburg High School in 1955.

Mrs. Freeman worked as a unit secretary at Rockingham Memorial Hospital for 19 years before retiring in January 2002. She was a member of Harrisonburg Baptist Church.

On Feb. 14, 1960, she married Kenneth Hirsch Freeman who survives. Also surviving are one sister, Jean Wilt Biller of Harrisonburg; a nephew and niece, T. Scott and Shelly Biller of Harrisonburg, who were like a son and daughter to her; along with their children, Lauren, Lexi and Matthew Edward Biller, all of whom where like grandchildren to her; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Brenda Druen of Gore, Va.

Her body will be cremated at the Lindsey Cremation Chapel in Harrisonburg. There will be no viewing. Private services will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call anytime on Saturday, July 6, at the home of Scott and Shelly Biller, 210 Garbers Church Road in Harrisonburg, where Ken and Gwen's sister, Jean, will be staying.

Memorial contributions may be made to Keister Elementary School, c/o Library Fund, 100 Maryland Ave., Harrisonburg, Va., in honor of Lauren, Lexi and Matthew Biller or to RMH Hospice, 235 Cantrell Avenue, Harrisonburg, Va., in memory of Gwen.
