CHARLES EDWARD- Surrounded by his family at home, Charles Edward Stafford went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2010, age 83. He was born March 1, 1927 to Hazel and Charles Robert Stafford. He attended Jackson High School and enlisted in theNavy on his seventeenth birthday, training in Faragut, Idaho. He served as a diesel mechanic aboard the LCS 29 traveling through the Pacific as far as China, and discharged in 1946. He worked at Hancock Industries and on the Railroad as a pipefitter and also worked at Tecumseh Products, the Cement City Cement Plant, the Jackson Post Office as a mailman and retired from Clark Equipment as a machinist after 33 1/2 years. He married Lenora Hayhoe on September 11, 1948, a marriage lasting 62 loving years. He is survived by his wife, Lenora; his children, Helen (Dale) Sterrett, of Grass Lake, Charles J. (Sharon) Stafford of Hanover, Maryland, Mary (Tom) Flack of Jackson, Edward (Cathie) Stafford of Dimondale, Holly (Bobby) Hawkins of Danville, Virginia, Pamela (Edward) Weaver of Jackson, and Lenora (David) Strenzel of Streator, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 13, soon to be 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; one brother; and a granddaughter, Julia Stafford. He was a longtime member of the Michigan Center Bible Church. His family was very important to him. Funeral services will be held at the Michigan Center Bible Church Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Tovey officiating.
