Audrey O. Swecker
Audrey Opal McGraw Swecker, 90, a patient in Broaddus Long Term Care Facility in Philippi, went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, April 6, 2002.
She was born Feb. 22, 1912, at Crest Mont, Clay County, the youngest daughter of the late Lawrence and Ella Jane Hall McGraw.
She was twice married. First, she married Ray Ogden, who preceded her in death. In 1932, she married Oscar Jonas Swecker, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1986.
She is survived by one son, Edwell Swecker and wife, Roxie, of Cleveland; one daughter, Mrs. Arizona Swecker Pingley and husband, Roxie, of Valley Bend; two grandsons, Roger Pingley and wife, Ann, of Valley Bend, and Jeff Swecker and wife, Karen, of Cleveland; one granddaughter, Debra McNemar and husband, Ron, of Buckhannon; seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Loleta Ogden; one grandson, one brother and six sisters.
Mrs. Swecker attended the schools of Randolph County. She was a homemaker and had worked at two local funeral homes for several years. She also specialized in patient care at both the Davis Memorial Hospital and the Memorial General Hospital prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Glen Rader officiating. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville. From 8 Apr 2002 and 9 Apr 2002.
