Ray returned home to his Heavenly Father on Nov. 27, 2010, surrounded by the ones who loved him most. He was born Oct. 15, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lacey William and Melva Victoria Spjut. He married Shirley Ann Morrison with whom he had four children. They were later divorced. He married Nancy Stanley on Oct. 6, 1993. Ray worked at Christensen Diamond for several years. He started working with his father at Dartnell Welding and Machine. At the age of 12 he was part owner and operator. Ray later retired at the age of 75. He loved life, bowling and golfing and was very well known in the community. He always showed love and concern for everyone he knew, especially his family and his cats. His memory will remain with us forever. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ray is survived by his wife and four children: Steven R. and Scott F. Dartnell, Laurie A. Davis (Loren), Cathy L. Bailey (John) and Anita Schelin (Mike); his 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister Janette Finnerty. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Coles. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, 1 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple-Salt Lake City) where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
