According to the book, "From The Chickahominy To The Caney Fork", William Gibbs was the son of Archibald and Margaret Boze Gibbs. They were among the first Gibbs to settle in Smith County. They are buried on their old home place near Elmwood, Smith County, Tennessee on the Helm's Bend Road. The Farm was later owned by Lex Kemp.

According to my sources, there is not a marker for them but there are several fieldstones.
