Mary was born as Anna Maria Agnesia Rupp in Baden, Germany to parents Johann Julius Rupp and Anna Catarina Maria Schmidin. She married Johann Georg Loerch in Altlussheim, Germany on 17 Jul 1810. Their four children were born in Germany. In 1839, Mary and George emigrated to America with their oldest son, Johann Konrad Loerch, and his family and by the mid-1850s had all settled in Inland Township, Iowa and had Anglicized their last name to Larick.
