Joseph W. Herrold, 80, of RR1 Middleburg died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

He was born Jan. 19, 1925, a son of the late Charles and Stella (Hummel) Herrold. He and the former Geraldine E. Reichenbach were married Aug. 22, 1942. She passed away July 30, 2000.

Mr. Herrold served in the Air Force during World War II.

He retired from North Penn Trucking Co. in 1982. He also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Susquehanna Silk Mill, Sunbury Motors, Sherwin-Williams and Fullmer Trucking.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon L. Deppen of Dornsife; one son, Arthur J. Herrold of Dallastown; four grandchildren, Ray, Diane, Andrew and Amanda; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas and Kyle.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Reitz, and five brothers, Harry, Jay, Ned, Paul and Arthur, in infancy.

The funeral was at the Aurand Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St. Beavertown, by Pastor Thomas Schroeder.

Burial in Troxelville Union Cemetery.
