Born in Providence, a son of the late Richard R. and Cara (Briggs) Percival, he lived in East Greemwich since 1956 and Florida for the last six years.
Mr. Percival was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a 50-year member of the Overseas Masonic Lodge. He was 32nd degree Mason Shrine and Consistory, a member of the Nestell Chapter No. 6 Order of the Eastern Star, Wakefield, and had been a member of the board of directors of the former East Greenwich Credit Union.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, R. Reece Percival III of East Greenwich; a daughter, Martha Guilfoyle of East Greenwich; a step-daughter, Mary E. Gorman of Mesa, Ariz.; three stepsons, Mark A. Thornlow of Mesa, Ariz., Joseph H. Thornlow of Greencastle, Pa., and Christopher C. Thornlow of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Robert I. Percival of Warwick; five grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, seven stepgrandchildren and twostep-great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ruth B. Jennings.
A memorial service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St. Burial will be private.
