Frank Clifton "Cliff" Jones, 60, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at his home in Boise, Idaho, following a brief illness.

Cliff was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on July 12, 1950, the son of Thomas Daniel and Fern W. (King) Jones. He attended school in Cody, Wyoming and Marsh Valley, Idaho, and later made his home in towns throughout southern Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Washington. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, writing poetry, boxing, playing football and working on cars.

He worked at various construction jobs, but soon found he was happiest when he was roofing. He established and operated several small roofing companies throughout his career.

While he and his wife, Peggy, lived in Pocatello, Cliff was an active member of Calvary Alliance Church where he served as head usher and participated in weekly Bible studies. He was also a member of Promise Keepers and very much enjoyed attending the conventions with his family and friends.

Cliff loved to go camping with Peggy on the Payette River north of Boise, where he spent many pleasurable hours chopping wood and cooking over the campfire. However, as much as he liked camping, Cliff felt that the 25-mile drive up to Cascade was never too far to go for a root beer float.

When he was at home in Boise, he liked to relax by taking long walks along the greenbelt and feeding the geese in Julia Davis Park. Cliff was a hard worker and a devoted friend who never hesitated to help someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elnora Virginia Dionne and Sandra Mae Jannings; two brothers, Hyram Daniel Jones and Scott Lee Jones; and a niece, Terry Lynn Dopp.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Amanda Kaye Jones and her husband, Bobby, and their children, Selina, Alex, Vanessa, Maya, Theresa and Alicia, of Idaho Falls; daughter, Alicia Ann Jones and her fiance, Bobby Beard; son, Brandon, of Idaho Falls; stepdaughter, Elisha Mayer and her husband, Mark, of Salem, Oregon; stepson, Casey Huse and his wife, Amy, and their children, Mercedes and Geoffrey, of Boise; two sisters, Anona Grant, of Emmett and Nyla Rae Anderson, of Tacoma, Wash.; and three brothers, Thomas Delynn Jones, of Belgrade, Mont., David Leroy Jones, of Idaho Falls and William Raymond Jones, of Toston, Mont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cliff's name may be made to The Gideon's International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800, www.gideons.org; or Heart and Home Hospice and Palliative Care, 3557 E. Overland Road, Meridian, ID 83642, www.heartnhomehospice.com.
