Obituary:
MRS. REAM, wife of Benj. Ream, died at her residence in Shanesville, Tus. co., O., on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1878, after a week of suffering from heart disease, at the advanced age of nearly eighty-eight years.

She was born in Virginia in 1790, and was a daughter of Rev. Henry Giesey, of the German Reformed church, of which Mrs. Ream had been a faithful member nearly all his lifetime.

She was married in 1815, at Berlin, Sommerset(sic) co., Pa., to the devoted husband who now mourns her loss, with whom she lived sixty-three- years.

Mrs. Ream and her family removed from Sommerset co., Pa., to New Philadelphia, O., in 1820, and from there to Shanesville in 1824. She was the mother of four children, two sons and two daughters. One of her daughters, Mrs. W. D. Hartman, preceded her in death about I8 years ago.The other children are yet living.

Mrs. Ream had been in good health nearly all her life until the week preceding her death. She was an exemplary wife, and an intelligent and affectionate mother. Her loss is greatly felt, not only by the mourning relatives but by all who knew her.

Her remains were borne to their last resting place in the Shanesville cemetery, Feb. 21, 1878, and although the weather was very bad the funeral was largely attended. Two able sermons were delivered on the occasion by Rev. J. G. Uahner, one in the English and one in the German language. Father Benj Ream, who is now in his 86th year of ago, deeply mourns the loss of his cherished life-companion—one who has stood stood by him so long and faithfully through the sunshine and storm of youth, manhood and old age.

May his declining years be peaceful, and when his days shall have ended for earth-life, may he pass to the life-eternal to again renew, and forever, the companionship of the loved one whose death he now mourns on earth. W.
