Bird, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Sutton, in East Jordan, Saturday, January 29, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 21 days. Deceased had been a sufferer from Bright's disease for more than a year. She leaves two sons, Hiland L. and Rolla W. Bird, and the daughter at whose home she died, besides ten grandchildren. She was a sister of C. P. Sweet, formerly of this village, and has three other brothers and two sisters living. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church here Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. H. H. Harris, with burial in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.
Deceased was well known to many Kalkaska people and was esteemed by all. She had lived here for a considerable period at different times and all who knew her will regret that her long and useful life is ended."
