Oscar Edward Pearce,60, a boatbuilder with the United States Coast Guard, died yesterday at 6:30 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of three months. He resided at 810 Freeman Avenue, South Norfolk.
A native of South Mills, N.C. he had lived here 30 years. His parents were Frank Brothers Pearce and Mrs. Betty Old Pearce. He was a member of Portlock Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillia Leicester Pearce; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Pearce Sawyer, of Charlotte, N.C. and three brothers, Frank Pearce, of South Mills, James E. Pearce, of New York, and Herbert P. Pearce, of Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
