HAZEL K. NORRIS
Hazel King Norris, formerly of 1642 South A Street, Elwood, died Tuesday on her 95th birthday.
Hazel was born February 19, 1896, in Orestes and was a talented seamstress and milliner.
She and her late husband owned and operated many area businesses including Economy Gas and Oil in Elwood. She was a member of the Orestes Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Clark of San Diego, California, granddaughter Carolyn Slocum of San Diego, and two great-grandchildren, Kim Slocum of Syracuse Grant Slocum of Grabill, and a great, great-grandson, Taylor Slocum and great, great-granddaughter, Paige Slocum.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Clarance G. Norris, and her son, Merrill King Norris.
Services will be 11 am Friday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with the Rev. Mark Nation officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 6 pm Thursday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the Elwood City Cemetery Mausoleum.
